BOOK CLUB AND MOVIE NIGHTS
Book ClubMakomNY has launched a successful Jewish Book Club that meets approximately every six weeks. We invite you to join us to talk about various books with Jewish themes, engage in some lively conversation about the book and its author, and learn from one another while sharing our thoughts and opinions.
These self-selected and self-directed groups are co-led by the Rabbi, our educator, or a participant of the group. No prior experience, knowledge or background is necessary. Past selections have included The Red Tent, As A Driven Leaf, The Bridal Chair, The Two-Family House, Rashi’s Daughters, Sotah and much more. Movie NightsMakomNY has developed a group of folks interested in gathering for an occasional movie night. Typically, the movies are themed around Jewish or historical topics.
We enjoy watching the movie and then discussing the varying themes and nature of the movies. Past selections have included Denial, The Lemon Tree and much more. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MAKOMNY BOOK CLUB OR MOVIE NIGHT, PLEASE COMPLETE OUT OUR CONTACT FORM SO WE CAN LEARN OF YOUR INTERESTS.
We encourage all participants in MakomNY events to make a suggested donation in order to help support our programs. Suggested donation for this event is $18 per participant. For those who currently participate in our Shorashim Donation Program, we thank you for your ongoing support, and there is no additional donation necessary for this activity. |
