MAKOMNY

A NEW KIND OF JEWISH COMMUNITY

HIGH HOLY DAYS 2025/5786

High Holy Days - Makom's 10th

Welcome to the High Holy Days at MakomNY

Celebrate the joy and holiness of
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur with us.

Join Rabbi Bravo
and introducing Cantorial Soloist
Linor Ein Gedy

The MakomNY community welcomes those from all backgrounds to share the High Holy Days with us. We have intentionally created a place to help meet the emerging and changing needs of our diverse Jewish community.

MakomNY is a progressive pluralist community, established in 2015 to meet the needs of individuals, couples and families with varying backgrounds, traditions and connections to Judaism. Now entering our 11th year, we invite and welcome you to experience the High Holy Day Season in a special and meaningful way with MakomNY.
The High Holy Day Experience at MakomNY includes services, programming, learning and communal holiday meals. Our High Holy Day Services offer traditional Hebrew prayers with transliteration as well as spiritual readings, meditations and beautiful music. It is important to us that all are able to follow and participate in the way they find comfortable and fulfilling.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Makom.

All services and programs (unless otherwise noted) will be held in person at the Bethpage Worship Center, 600 Broadway, Bethpage.

High Holy Day Mitzvah Projects

DO A MITZVAH FOR YOURSELF;
DO A MITZVAH FOR OTHERS

This year, everything still feels different. Many of us may be feeling angry, sad, frustrated and lost. Wanting to do something but not knowing what to do. We invite you to take a personal Mitzvah Journey. Let’s use our skills and our voices for good.

This year’s Mitzvah Projects will focus on creating something beautiful that also strengthens our own individual Jewish identity. There will also be opportunities to support our friends in Israel, the IDF soldiers fighting on behalf of the Jewish State and those most impacted by the ongoing war. As individuals and as a community, we make a difference!

Details are found on our High Holy Day Reservation Form.

RUDMAN FOOD PANTRY - COLLECTIONS

As in years past, we continue to support the Rudman Family Food Pantry at the Mid-Island Y-JCC. There will be bags available on Rosh Hashanah, and we ask that you bring them back on Yom Kippur filled with your donations.

The needs are so great in our community. On the first day alone in August, 2025, over 50 families came for food from the pantry. Please do what you can to help!
