HIGH HOLY DAYS 2021/5782
Welcome to the High Holy Days at MakomNY. Celebrate the joy and holiness of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur with us.
The MakomNY community welcomes those from all backgrounds to share the High Holy Days with us. We have intentionally created a place to help meet the emerging and changing needs of our diverse Jewish community. High Holy Day programming at MakomNY includes services, adult learning, quiet reflection, thoughtful discussion and spiritual flourishing, special family activities and more. Our High Holy Day Services include Hebrew prayers with transliteration, as well as beautiful spiritual readings, meditations and insights in English. It is important to us that all are able to follow and participate in the way they find comfortable and fulfilling. 2021/5782 HIGH HOLY DAY REGISTRATION FORM CLICK HERE MakomNY High Holy Day Highlights: Erev Rosh Hashanah Dinner TOGETHER with Holiday Meal and Blessings In-Person and Online Options for All Main Services Special Family Services for both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Second Day of Rosh Hashanah Activities and Service Communal Tashlich at Private Beachfront Special SHOFAR SERVICE in the TENT Yom Kippur Yizkor Service with Special Video Remembrance New Yom KIppur Mitzvah Projects New Healing Service on Yom Kippur Afternoon Personal Reflections by Makom Friends on Yom Kippur Afternoon Special Havdalah and Final Shofar Blast in the TENT MakomNY High Holy Day 2021/5782 Schedule of Events Join Rabbi Deborah Bravo and Cantorial Soloist Sarah Lonsert: Erev Rosh Hashanah: Monday, September 6, 2021

This year, we offer several opportunities to participate in Mitzvah Projects, both for people who are in-person as well as virtual. As in years past, we continue to support the Rudman Family Food Pantry at the Mid-Island Y-JCC. There will be bags available on Rosh Hashanah, and we ask that you bring them back on Yom Kippur filled with your donations. If you will be fully virtually, you can pick up your bag in Bethpage or at Rabbi Bravo's home in Woodbury (by appointment please). This year, we are launching a new mitzvah project: #Makom Rallies for Rebecca. As many of you know, our own Rebecca Koltun, daughter of Scott and Audrey Koltun, was in a traumatic accident in March that left her as a quadriplegic. She is making tremendous progress, yet Rebecca and her family need all of our continuing support. To read more about Rebecca's story, please click here. We have created a few opportunities to help support Rebecca and her family, and with a little help from Rebecca, ways to help other individuals like Rebecca who are in acute rehabilitation facilities. More details on the High Holy Day Registration Form.
